Beginning 2019, I began to incorporate into my practice a generative adversarial network or GAN’s. The images datasets are drawn from industrial sites, fringe landscapes, bordering urban and rural including my paintings and photographs.

This video is a working model that will be featured in the exhibition. It has a close relation to the major themes and style of the project. This video was created using a generative adversarial networks (GAN’s). This video and six others will be combined into a 12 min video loop that that will cycle through the transitions of the landscape’s that have been created through the interactions of the date sets and GAN’s.
This video has been made using datasets of images from industrial landscapes around Brisbane including my own paintings on the subject. These images have been re-generated using a number of tailored data-sets of abandoned industrial objects, discarded machinery, cars, transmission towers and Spomenik’s memorials.
The video shows passing of time and the accrual of industrial and natural processes upon an edgeland landscape.
Note: soundscape is a work in a progress. The sound track for this video was GAN created using the soundtracks from the artists Eluvium, False readings and the artists Custer & Eno, Custer, Eno.
