CURRICULUM VITAE: DENNIS MCCART
Dennis McCart is a Brisbane-based artist working across painting, drawing, animation, and machine learning, exploring the tension between humanity's innate connection to nature and its growing sense of detachment. With a background in fine art, drama, and digital new media, McCart holds a Master of Visual Arts from QCA, Griffith University. His practice centres on themes of repetition, remembrance, and recreation, approached using technology as both a tool and collaborator. He has been a finalist in numerous prestigious awards, including the Banyule Award for Works on Paper, Clayton Utz Art Prize, KAAF Art Award, and Stanthorpe Art Prize, and in 2024, he won the Digital Prize at the Brisbane Portrait Prize for Serial Copycat.
